Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor, most famous for his role as the star of the popular TV show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. Meloni discovered his passion for acting in his early days at school and then pursued acting studies at The University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been in the television and film industry, but it was his smaller-screen roles that brought him fame and an extensive audience. He has the ability to portray both characters from the side of the police as well as the other. This is what makes him so popular. When he first appeared on television, for his debut production, he played an infamous serial killer. Then, he played the role of an NYPD Investigator. He's been nominated numerous times for prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen performances. His most attractive facial feature is said to be his distinctive blue eyes, which are considered to be a trademark and have aided in depicting tough characters that have charisma. The People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive 2006 featured his face.
