Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a character on the well-known TV series 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. The first time he became interested in acting was during his college years. He completed his acting studies at University of Colorado at Boulder. He was also active on TV and film but his performances on the smaller screen have earned him a lot of recognition. It is no surprise that the actor has managed to grab people's attention with his characters on both one side of the law. He was the serial killer role in his debut television show as well as later portrayed of an NYPD detective. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he's received many nominations for highly coveted Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. The piercing, blue eyes which have been said to make him look handsome. They have helped to convey tough characters in a charming manner. In 2006, he appeared in the People's magazine's Sexiest Men Alive list.
