LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American professional basketball player that is a player for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Nicknamed King James he is widely thought to be one of the best players of all time and is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player ever. James has been the recipient of four NBA Championships, Four NBA MVP Awards, the four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He is also the proud owner of 2 Olympic gold medals. James has scored the most points in the playoffs and has the second highest number of career points and is the seventh player with the most ever assists. James has 18 NBA All-Stars and 18 All-NBA Teams and five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections. In total, he has played in more than 10 NBA Finals, the third-most ever. The streak spans eight consecutive years between 2011-2018. James was selected for his way onto the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. In 2022, James became one of the few NBA player to score 10,000 points in his career. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron in Ohio. He was hailed by the national press as the future NBA super star. He was a pre-profession player and chosen for the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. He was named the 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year the player quickly became one of the best league players, winning his NBA MVP Award in 2009 and 2010. James went free agency in 2010 after failing to win championships with Cleveland. The decision to quit Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on the television show The Decision, is considered as one of the most controversial free-agent moves in sports history.
